Dietisha
Nutrition, epigenetics, and the science behind how we live.
I grew up in a family where cancer cases were becoming more common, and I started wondering about something that many people used to think was simply genetic. How much of our health is written in our genes—and how much can be influenced by the way we live? That question eventually led me to study nutrition. And years later, it led me to epigenetics.
“You take care of your diet, and your diet will take care of you.”
That is something my father told me years ago.
At the time, I didn't know how much that sentence would influence me, but my current motto is:
“Don’t take care of your diet, let the diet take care of you”

What is Dietisha?
The name is actually pretty simple.
Diet has always carried the idea of restriction, rules, and what we are allowed or not allowed to eat.
Tisha is my idea of a healthier relationship with food.
Put them together:
Diet + Tisha = Dietisha.
It is my way of thinking about nutrition beyond diets and restrictions.
Because eating well doesn't have to mean following a perfect diet.
It can mean understanding your food, your body, your lifestyle, and the choices you make every day.
Why epigenetics?
Over the years, I discovered that my father wasn't entirely wrong.
Our food and lifestyle really can influence what happens inside our bodies—and science has shown us that environmental and lifestyle factors can influence gene expression.
That's where epigenetics becomes fascinating.
Our DNA doesn't simply determine everything about us. Our biology is constantly interacting with signals from the world around us.
And nutrition is one of those signals.
The science is fascinating, but it is also complex. There is still a lot we don't know, and I think that's important to acknowledge.
So rather than using epigenetics to promise that we can control our genes, I’m interested in understanding what the science actually tells us—and what it doesn't.

Food & Everyday Life
Because nutrition doesn't happen in a laboratory. It happens at the grocery store, in restaurants, in our kitchens, and during busy Tuesday mornings.
Outside of nutrition, I’m all about balance, creativity, fashion, and pop art.
I speak English and Spanish fluently, and I’m currently improving my Italian and French.
Originally from the vibrant Mexico City, I’m now living in California
I love cooking and improving my mom’s recipes, playing tennis, and exploring my artistic side through photography and movies.
Nature helps me recharge.
Life is just better when it’s shared with good people, good vibes and a whole lot of joy.
