That’s a good question. Explaining what a dietitian does isn’t as straightforward as explaining what an accountant does. My best answer is:

Many people think that being on a diet means cutting out carbs, eating nothing but juices, eliminating your favorite foods, feeling hungry all the time—and, worst of all, going through the exhausting cycle of weight cycling (yo-yo dieting). That’s the reality of fad diets: they’re restrictive, monotonous, and unsustainable.
But that’s not what I do. I consider wellness to be so much more than strict rules and temporary fixes. My approach is about building a lifestyle that works for you. Step 1: In-Depth Nutrition Assessment
We’ll start with a complete nutritional evaluation, including your weight history, past and current medical conditions, family health history, food allergies or intolerances, likes and dislikes, eating, sleeping, and exercise habits, your relationship with food, and much more. Step 2: Personalized Discussion (In-person or Online)
We'll talk about your goals—sometimes at your home, sometimes online. I’ll share my thoughts based on your nutrition assessment. The destination: “Where you want to be.”
Step 3: Strategy and Action Plan
Together, we’ll build a game plan for how to move forward. Some people prefer a formal, structured meal plan. Others do better with clear, measurable habit changes.
